Filming Update

Whilst filming the beginning half of our short film, it ran pretty smoothly. However looking back on our clips we have noticed a few errors such as certain clips not going together correctly and also the sound stick can be seen a couple times in certain clips. Due to this we will have to film certain parts again. This has set us back a little bit and as we started late due to the changing of our storyline and our pre-production being delayed. We will again be shooting soon where we hopefully will be getting film the rest and certain parts that need re-filming.

Feedback From Updated Treatment

  • They found that this short film seemed to come together a little more and also make more sense to them where they had found the old one a little questionable.
  • We were told that our plot was good and as long as we made it clear and understandable they thought that our film would come along nicely together.
  • One thing we were told was to use the college and its different locations more so that it is not all set in one specific area.
  • We also received feedback to make the scenes which we will be shooting in the forest as a flashback seem like it was definitely done on a different day.

Plot Change

We have decided to change the plot of our short film as our prior idea had a lot of hole which we recognised when we began to map out individual scenes and come up with a storyboard. We are however keeping the genre the same as a thriller and the characters being all female, yet the plot is now different. We will be doing a new treatment presenting our new overall ideas and then continue with the rest of pre-production.

Treatment Presentation

Feedback From Treatment

The feedback we received was;
  • To make the plot clearer to understand with a more detailed summary of what we want to do and achieve as people were finding it difficult to understand what our plot was.
  • They also made a suggestion that we should use more props to reinforce the idea that they are camping and for it look more realistic therefore more believable to the people that will be watching.
  • They said that they feel that It can actually be believable as long as we show it in our short film clearly as otherwise it may be quite confusing for the audience.
